If you are tired of the belly bulge and you've decided to create a diet to lose belly fat, then, you must consider the following foods among your allies.

OATMEAL

Oatmeal makes an excellent choice for breakfast because it is rich in trace minerals and vitamins and it has a high fiber content that gives a sense of fullness. A cup of low-fat yogurt, two spoonfuls of oatmeal flakes and some berries will help you stay away from doughnuts, biscuits and any other snack.

! Do not buy the flavored oatmeal varieties. They contain sugar and artificial flavors. Use simple, plain oatmeal flakes. Oatmeal works wonders for any diet to lose belly fat.

ALMONDS AND NUTS

They keep the tummy full because they are a source of protein and fiber. If you combine nuts with a glass of fresh orange juice, you'll feel full, and have energy to carry on with your work or school tasks. 20 or 25 almonds per day should help you with hunger pangs and keep you away from caloric overloading.

! Simple, raw almonds are the best. Avoid the salted ones because they increase blood pressure.

OLIVE oil and CANOLA oil

Monounsaturated fats like olive oil or canola oil are very valuable in any diet to lose belly fat. Such fats keep hunger under control, they work excellent with various salad combinations and they don't threaten to increase the cholesterol level. Quite the opposite.

! Eliminate all steer clear hydrogenated vegetable oils because they are full of unhealthy fats that ruin diets and lead to illness.

BERRIES

Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries or cranberries are excellent sources of vitamins C, A and E, which are natural antioxidants. They boost up the immune function, enhance the metabolism and increase the vitality level. Moreover, they contain very few calories, in almost insignificant amounts. Plus, they deliciously flavor your diet to lose belly fat.

! Beware of fruit jelly! This is junk food of the fruity world. It contains almost not nutrients, next to zero fiber and has lots of added sugar.

EGGS

Eggs are a great source of protein, particularly the white, while the yoke contains high amounts of vitamin B12, necessary for metabolizing fats. Eggs could be successfully included in a diet to lose belly fat, on the one condition that you don't suffer from cholesterol.

! People with high cholesterol should avoid the egg yoke, and consume only the white.
